What Does Really Save Us????
The Bible teaches that we are saved by a combination of things.  Any doctrine of salvation by faith only, or grace only, or a combination of a few things only is false.  Bereans were more noble for they searched the scriptures daily in Acts 17:10-11.  It is also interesting what the 3d century Augustine said, “If you believe what you like in the gospel, and reject what you don't like, it is not the gospel you believe, but yourself.” Words of wisdom to live in a sound relationship with God and His Son. The Bible says in I John 4:1  Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God; because many false prophets are gone out into the world.  David wrote in Psalms 119:105, Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.  Bible says in Romans 1:22 ...(Don't let this happen) some become fools for rejecting the knowledge of God.  In Isaiah 55:8-9 we read “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways," declares the Lord. "As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts."   And the Bible also says in John 12:48, He that rejecteth me and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day.  Also read II John 1:19 , Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son.  Colossians 2:8 Paul warns us, Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.  It is not an either/or choice.  We must accept all of what God says.
So be a Berean!!! Study this and learn more of the will of God and His Promises.

12 Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling; 13 for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure.   14 Do all things without complaining and disputing.
James 2:21-26
21 Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered Isaac his son on the altar?  22 Do you see that faith was working together with his works, and by works faith was made perfect?  23 And the Scripture was fulfilled which says,  “Abraham believed God, and it was  accounted to him for righteousness.” And he was called the friend of God.  24 You see then that a man is justified by works, and not by faith only.  25 Likewise, was not Rahab the harlot also justified by works when she received the messengers and sent them out another way? 26 For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.

Lord's Supper Each First Day of the Week
Hymn:  When we meet in sweet communion
John 6:53-54

53  Jesus said to them, "I tell you the truth, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you.  54 Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day.
I Corinthians 11:24-26
24 and when He had given thanks, He broke it and said, “Take, eat; this is My body which is broken for you; do this in remembrance of Me.” 25 In the same manner He also took the cup after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in My blood. This do, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me.”  26 For as often as you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death till He comes.
Now we know why the writer gives us the admonition to not forsake the assembly  as some do in Hebrews 10:25  Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching..
